The Ascamm Foundation and Sescoi Iberia sign an ERP systems collaboration agreement
On 30 December 2003 Mr Xavier Lopez, Deputy General Manager of the Ascamm Foundation (the Catalan mould makers association) and Mr Bruno Marko, Director of Sescoi Iberia and founder of the Sescoi Group in 1987, signed a collaboration agreement with the objective of accelerating the application of new technologies and promoting the use of ERP software by mould and die makers.
Since 1995 the Sescoi Group has been marketing WorkPLAN , a specialized job management ERP system which was developed to meet the needs of mould and die makers and which Ascamm considers a good tool for the sector. WorkPlan is a modular software system with options for implementing quotations, production, time monitoring, purchasing, planning, communication and quality management.
Under the terms of this agreement Sescoi Iberia will provide Ascamm with 8 WorkPLAN licences and train 3 Ascamm technicians. It is envisaged that Ascamm will soon include WorkPLAN software in its training programmes and the two parties are already collaborating on R&D projects and technology transfer.
In addition, Ascamm members will benefit from a 10% discount on the cost of WorkPLAN licences on top of subsidies offered by Ascamm and the Catalan Government to encourage the adoption of ERP software.
Christian Liepert, WorkPLAN Manager for Spain, spoke of the importance of the agreement and the high level of acceptance which WorkPlan has enjoyed in Spain since 2002 - "Companies that prioritize quality management and continuous improvement clearly favour the use of ERP systems in order to secure the future"
Lastly, Ascamm and Sescoi have agreed to explore future collaboration opportunities in the realm of CAM/CAD technologies, as Sescoi is also the developer behind WorkNC, world leading automatic 3D CAM software for the past 16 years.
