WorkNC recognises your features
Prismatic machining has become automatic in Version 16 of WorkNC, the world class CAM software from Sescoi.
A large proportion of toolmaking involves machining of 2.5D holes and pockets, which can be both time consuming to programme and a potential source of errors. The new feature based Hole Machining in WorkNC enables imported CAD data to be examined in WorkNC-CAD, where complex holes and pockets are recognized and the appropriate machining methods chosen.
WorkNC's Hole Machining then automatically interrogates the available tooling and picks the most appropriate sequence of operations to successfully and safely cut each pocket or hole, applying clearance, approach method, feed and speed and a combination of toolpaths. Individual programmers can have full control by amending the WorkNC logic used for each type of feature so that cutting can be completed using the methods most suited to their company. CNC code, generated by WorkNC, makes full use of canned cycles available on each machine tool control system, producing compact and comprehensible data for the shop floor.
